ABOUT
Raised on a council estate situated in a former mining town in Nottinghamshire (UK) throughout the 1970s and 1980s, I'm a former lecturer in Film and Cultural Studies who has been writing, directing, editing and producing films in Manchester (UK) since 2005.
As well as numerous music videos and commercial promos, my filmography includes the independent music documentaries 'Iceland: Beyond Sigur Rós' (Short, 2010), 'Manchester: Beyond Oasis' (Feature, 2012) and 'Liverpool: Beyond The Beatles' (Feature, 2015), as well as my critically acclaimed, multi-award winning working-class feature film, 'Nobody Loves You and You Don't Deserve to Exist' (2022) which is currently available on Amazon Prime and Apple TV.
From June 2023 to January 2024 I occupied the UK Desk (Film and Culture) for the weekly arts and culture radio show, Arts Express, on WBAI 99.5 FM in New York (US). In February 2024 I was then appointed as an Associate Editor (Film, Culture, and Academia) for the UK arts, culture and politics website, Culture Matters.
In turn, I'm also the founder and editor of Serious Feather Arts, an independent, non-profit podcast which features in-depth interview film/media academics and authors which available on various platforms.
My latest production which I wrote, directed and produced in a short film adaptation of Franz Kafka's classic parable, 'Before the Law' (2024) which was shot in Bolton and Rivington in the UK.
